Celebrate International Dance Day dancing with Guest Teacher, Marie-Josée Chartier! Chartier is a nationally acclaimed artist working as choreographer, director (dance, opera, multi-media) performer and teacher with her repertoire presented in Canada, Europe and Latin America. Select awards include: K.M. Hunter Award (2001), Jacqueline Lemieux Prize (2015), Dora Mavor Awards (2002-2004). Chartier visits Winnipeg regularly as a guest teacher at the School of Contemporary Dancers since 2010 (dance/voice), has created two solos for Jolene Bailie (a short voyage 2004, Terrain 2008) and presented 3 full evening works (Screaming Popes 2007, Stria 2013, petites danses 2017) and taught an intensive workshop for Young Lungs Dance Exchange in 2013. This April she will perform in How it Ends a play by Debbie Patterson presented at PTE. Chartier will teach a centre contemporary dance class.
