The WCD premiere of Canadian dance icon Peggy Baker's newest work, schema; created on WCD dancers, is paired with two highly charged works that examine the nature of communication and relationships. A driving mix of percussion and electronics by transatlantic chamber electronica duo Knuckleduster propels Baker's own stellar company of dancers in Split Screen Stereophonic. In epilogue, Baker has choreographed a duet for herself and an absent partner, capturing the ironies, frustrations, and emptiness of the loss of one half of a couple. You will not want to miss this very exciting evening of dance by one of Canada's most cherished dance artists.
“…hot-and-cold images of fraught emotion, intimacy and detachment operating within two relationships… It’s the kind of piece you really want to see several times.” –Michael Crabb, Toronto Star (Split Screen Stereophonic)
