Class Description: Contact Improvisation “Choreographing Tension”

This class will encourage participants to find ways of moving efficiently, expressively and uniquely on one’s own, with partners and in and out of the floor. We will focus on improvisation, specifically contact improvisation, to discover physical relationships that can be used in choreography for both dance and theatre. Using and identifying varying tensions and efforts in the body, we will find ways to create and build different relationships, find ways to fail and succeed and move towards taking risks.
